GENERAL
Mark was educated at Swanwick infants and South Wingfield Junior schools. His secondry education was at Alfreton Mortimer Wilson Comprehensive. He was christened at St.Andrew's Parish Church by the Reverend Lewis Roper and his godparents were John James Beacroft and Ronald and Janet Sharp His first Job was at Stephenson's(Dyers) in the laboratory.His second was at LB Plastics. He then moved to Pentos as a development upholsterer and took his City and Guilds in upholstery. From there he went to work for Peter Peacock as a sales representative selling fabrics to the furniture trade. He was head hunted by Victor Black Ltd. He decided to start his own business and moved to a Turkish firm to learn about the export and import trade. Finally he set up his own firm, MB Textiles on 1st of October 1989. He opened a retail shop with his wife on King Street at Alfreton called Fabric Corner. They then moved to South Normanton into the same premises as MB Textiles. They later sold it to their manager. Mark is a member of the Round Table serving as Chaiman of the Alfreton 728 branch 1996-97 and also as Area 7 Chairman.
