History Ernest emigrated to Canada and settled in Hamilton. He had several driving jobs there. He joined the 92nd O.S. Battalion (Highlanders) C.E.F. in January 1916 and was discharged as 'medically unfit' on March 16th 1916.

Ernest emigrated to Canada and settled in Hamilton. He had several driving jobs in Canada. He joined the 92nd O.S. Battalion (Highlanders) C.E.F. in January 1916. He was discharged as medically unfit on March 16th 1916. His brother Herbert wrote in 1993 that he went to Canada to work on a farm. His sister Selina Hetty can also remember him going but not the date.
